New funding for dormitory places: Young living in BW is coming!

The Ministry of State Development and Housing of Baden-Württemberg today published the call for funding “Young Living – Modernization of Dormitory Places”. The initiative aims to create new dormitory places and modernize existing places and shared spaces in Baden-Württemberg. This measure is supported by the economic development agency of the Main-Tauber district, which points out the importance of the initiative.

A central concern of the funding call is to promote sustainable conversion measures in order to reduce energy and water consumption. These measures are part of social housing construction and complement the state's social housing support. In addition, the focus of the initiative, which was newly set up by the Ministry of Housing, is to support dormitory places for trainees.

Goals and measures of the funding call

The “Young Living” initiative promotes the expansion of dormitory places not only for students, but now also specifically for trainees. The aim is to provide low-rent living space in dormitories. Investments in new and existing dormitories as well as in shared rooms are specifically supported.

Funding applications can be easily submitted to L-Bank. Interested parties can submit their applications by email mietwohnungsbau@l-bank.de send. The details of the funding call are available on the website of the Ministry of Regional Development and Housing: www.mlw.baden-wuerttemberg.de/junges-wohnen.

An expression of interest process preceded the call for funding. The funding basis for the new dormitory places is described as “provisional”. However, this does not affect its effectiveness as it remains valid until replaced by a long-term administrative regulation in the second half of 2025. This means there is no funding gap.

If you have any questions about the funding basis or the process, you can send an email to young-living@mlw.bwl.de turn around. The comprehensive information about this initiative can also be found on the Main-Tauber-Kreis website: Main-Tauber district.
