New project management in Lam Dong: Progress for the region!

Reforms in Lam Dong Province have implemented a comprehensive investment project management system. Before the establishment of the new province, Lam Dong had 13 project management units at the provincial level and 28 at the district level. With the approval of the Provincial People's Committee, five new project management units were launched to increase the efficiency of project implementation and meet higher demands.

A key element of these reforms is the creation of three regional project management committees, each responsible for specific areas. This concerns:

In addition, two specialized project management committees, namely the Transportation Committee and the Lam Dong Agriculture Committee, were established. These committees assume responsibility for key projects as well as interregional projects assigned by the People's Committee.

Structure and tasks of the project management units

A total of 28 regional project management committees have been established under the above-mentioned committees. These are not only responsible for executing unfinished projects, but also carry out specialized work such as plumbing work. Each of the regional committees has its own legal status, assets, seals and independent accounting, which gives them a certain degree of autonomy.

Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi has stressed the need to continue the activities of these bodies without interruption. Despite the difficulties caused by changes in organizational models and investment procedures, the problem is being examined by the relevant departments and recommended to the People's Committee for the necessary adjustments.

Challenges and solutions

A key aspect of project implementation is the investor's responsibility for compensation and construction site clearance, which, however, requires the support of the political system. The Chairman noted that the existing regulations on land price lists will remain valid until they are replaced by new documents. He reinforced his message that there is no lack of resources, but rather consensus and determination to achieve the province's goals.
