E-scooter driver stopped under the influence of drugs - criminal proceedings initiated

On April 22, 2024, a 23-year-old e-scooter driver was subjected to a traffic stop in Landau due to an expired insurance license plate. During the driving test, signs were found that indicated the use of narcotics. Continuation of the journey was prohibited because the driver was drunk. Although she said she had used a joint the day before, she refused to take a drug test. Therefore, a blood sample was ordered. Criminal proceedings for drunk driving and a violation of the compulsory insurance law were initiated.

The Landau police station led the investigation in this case. If you have any questions, you can contact the press office on 06341-287-2003 or visit the website www.polizei.rlp.de/pd.landau. The Rhineland-Palatinate police allow press releases to be published provided the source is stated.
