Rickenbach celebrates 100 years: open air, concerts and fire brigade spectacle!
On the weekend of July 12th to 13th, 2025, the Rickenbach Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate its 100th anniversary with an extensive ceremony and numerous events for the whole family. The celebrations begin on Saturday evening with an open-air event starting at 9 p.m. at the equipment house. The Rickenbacher band Brassanas will then create an atmospheric ambience by presenting brass music with modern influences and bringing hits from the 80s and 90s as well as pop songs, electronic dance music and hip-hop to the stage. Entry opens at 7 p.m. and DJ Stargazer will take over the dance floor from 11 p.m. Various stands ensure your physical well-being, including a fire department bar with mixed alcoholic drinks and a snuff bar with different types of snuff.
The festival Sunday continues at 10:30 a.m. with a morning pint concert by the Rickenbach Music Association. From 11 a.m., visitors can view historical saluting cannons from the southern Black Forest and look forward to a joint salute at 2 p.m. There are also several concerts on the program: the Altenschwand traditional band plays at 12.30 p.m., followed by the Oberhof music association at 3 p.m. and the Hogschür traditional band at 4.30 p.m. A colorful children's program with face painting, a bouncy castle and fire equipment is offered for younger guests.
Diverse culinary offering
Visitors can also expect an extensive range of food: from fire department currywurst to grilled sausage and fries to cheese spaetzle. On Sunday there is also roast pork with imperial vegetables and spaetzle as well as sausage salad. Sweet delicacies await you in the coffee shop with homemade cakes and tarts. The fire brigade colleagues from Rickenbach are looking forward to numerous guests and hope for an unforgettable anniversary weekend.
Special features of the vehicle and weapon exhibition
A highlight of the celebrations will be the exhibition of various fire engines from the district, including a turntable ladder, a telescopic mast platform and a rescue truck. Visitors receive interesting explanations about the tactical importance of these vehicles.
