In the past trading week, the bulls were only able to stabilize the DAX without recording any significant recoveries. Smaller upward moves proved to be insubstantial as they were repeatedly sold off. The crucial threshold remains the SMA20, above which the bulls must push the index higher in order to consolidate their position and take the upper hand from the bears.
The DAX fell below the SMA20 last week and was then barely able to recover. The trend continues to be downwards and the weakness continues. Despite a short-term increase at the beginning of the week, followed by red daily candles in a row, the index was able to reach the SMA50. At the end of the week, the DAX was able to close just above this line, giving the bulls minimal breathing space.
For the coming trading week, it remains to be seen whether the bulls can further consolidate their position and bring the index above important resistance levels. Market developments are closely linked to the global economic situation and can also be influenced by external factors.
