The NASDAQ 100 closed in the red on the fifth day of the week. At the close of trading on Friday, the index was 2.05 percent lower at 17,037.65 points. Previously, the NASDAQ 100 opened at 17,334.71 points, which was 0.343 percent below the previous day's closing price. The daily high of the index was 17,362.28 points, while the lowest level of the stock market barometer was recorded at 16,973.94 points.
Since the beginning of 2024, the NASDAQ 100 has recorded an increase of 2.98 percent. The current annual high of the index is 18,464.70 points, while the annual low is 16,249.19 points. The strongest stocks in the NASDAQ 100 are currently Walgreens Boots Alliance, Autodesk, Exelon, Amgen and Charter A, while NVIDIA, Netflix, AMD, Marvell Technology and Micron Technology are among the weakest stocks.
In the NASDAQ 100, Apple shares currently lead the trading volume, while Microsoft shares have the largest share in the index by market capitalization. Fundamental data shows that Walgreens Boots Alliance stock has the lowest price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio and is expected to offer the most attractive dividend yield.
