German stock markets are stagnating despite many business figures
Investors on the German stock market took a rather cautious stance on Tuesday. Against the background of a large number of business figures and economic data as well as in the run-up to the holiday break on Wednesday, the Dax showed only minor changes in early trading, with an increase of 0.05 percent to 18,127.35 points. The leading German index continued its moderate gains from the beginning of the week. However, there are signs of a decline of almost two percent for the current month after the DAX reached a record high of 18,567 points at the beginning of April, which now seems far away.
The MDax, which includes medium-sized stock exchange companies, also recorded a slight increase of 0.18 percent to 26,390.90 points on Tuesday morning. The Eurozone leading index EuroStoxx 50 also recorded a slight increase of almost 0.1 percent.
Analysts attribute the overall subdued development on the German stock market to the upcoming holidays and the large number of company figures and economic data. Investors are remaining cautious for the time being, which is leading to a rather stagnating price development. Despite the current gains, the long-term outlook is muted due to the potential decline in April and the distance from the recent record high.
