Dow Jones falls 1.31 percent on the fifth day of the week
On Friday afternoon, the Dow Jones recorded losses for the fifth day in a row. In NYSE trading, the Dow Jones was trading at 37,953.48 points at 7:59 p.m., down 1.31 percent. The total value of the values contained amounts to 13.209 trillion euros. At the start of trading on Friday, the index recorded slight gains, but was ultimately lower than the previous day.
During the day, the Dow Jones fell to a low of 37,879.29 points while reaching a high of 38,319.14 points. The Dow Jones has already lost 2.47 percent since the beginning of the week. Compared to the level a month ago, which was 39,005.49 points, there is a downward trend. Three months ago the index was 37,592.98 points, and a year ago it was 33,646.50 points.
Over the course of 2024, the Dow Jones recorded an increase of 0.632 percent, reaching its previous annual high of 39,889.05 points. The annual low, however, is 37,122.95 points. The winners in the index currently include Apple, Walmart and Travelers, while losers include JPMorgan Chase, Intel and Walt Disney.
In addition, Apple shares have the largest trading volume in the Dow Jones, while Microsoft has the largest market capitalization at 2.944 trillion euros. Verizon shares have the lowest price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) of 8.77 among Dow Jones stocks and forecast the strongest dividend yield of 6.65 percent for 2024.
