Euro STOXX 50: Weakest day of the year - loss of 1.68 percent

The Euro STOXX 50 is trending downwards on Thursday afternoon. At 3:39 p.m. the index is at 4,906.25 points, a decline of 1.68 percent. This means a market value of 4.325 trillion euros. At the start of trading, the index recorded a slight increase of 0.070 percent compared to the previous day.

The daily high of the Euro STOXX 50 was 4,994.41 points, while the index reached its lowest level on Thursday at 4,905.23 points. Overall, the Euro STOXX 50 has lost 0.301 percent this week. One month ago the index was at 5,044.19 points, three months ago at 4,582.26 points and a year ago at 4,377.85 points.

Since the beginning of 2024, the index has recorded an increase of 8.72 percent, reaching its annual high of 5,121.71 points. The annual low, however, was 4,380.97 points. The strongest stocks in the Euro STOXX 50 are currently Infineon, Bayer and Deutsche Börse, while SAP SE, UniCredit and Münchener Rückversicherungs-Gesellschaft have the weakest performances.

Infineon has the highest trading volume in the index, while the LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton share has the highest market value in the Euro STOXX 50. In terms of price-earnings ratio (P/E), the Volkswagen (VW) vz share has the lowest P/E ratio, while the Intesa Sanpaolo share is expected to have the most attractive dividend yield.

The development of the Euro STOXX 50 shows restraint in Europe, which is reflected in the losses on Thursday afternoon.
