Slight price gains in the Dow Jones index: American Express Co. leads
On Tuesday, stocks in the Dow Jones index recorded slight price gains. At this point in time, the stock barometer was up 0.64 percent. The color green dominated the stock market, while the Dow Jones was valued at 38,484 points.
Particularly outstanding stocks in the index were those from American Express, the Goldman Sachs Group and JP Morgan Chase. American Express recorded the most significant price increase of 3.94 percent, with the security currently valued at $238.38. Goldman Sachs Group and JP Morgan Chase securities also recorded price increases of 3.57 percent and 2.04 percent, respectively.
In contrast, shares of UnitedHealth Group, Boeing and Walmart performed negatively. UnitedHealth Group lost 2.12 percent, while Boeing and Walmart suffered losses of 0.98 percent and 0.93 percent, respectively.
Despite the price fluctuations mentioned, the Dow Jones remains on the road to success thanks to today's price increase. Since the beginning of the year the increase has been 2.09 percent. The index includes the 30 best-known stocks in the USA and was introduced in 1896.
