Nasdaq 100: Slight losses on the stock market
The Nasdaq 100 index recorded slight losses in stock trading so far today, with the price barometer falling by 2.12 percent to 17,025 points. The mood of private and institutional investors on the stock market is currently slightly pessimistic. A loss of 2.12 percent temporarily put the Nasdaq 100 in the red, and the index now stands at 17,025 points.
The shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance, Autodesk and Exelon in the index developed positively today. Walgreens Boots Alliance recorded the largest increase in value and was up 2.93 percent at a current price of $18.11. Autodesk gained 2.54 percent to trade at $215.99, while Exelon rose 2.44 percent to trade at $37.58.
On the other hand, shares of Nvidia, Netflix and AMD Advanced Micro Devices in the Nasdaq 100 were negative. Nvidia posted a loss of 9.35 percent and traded at $767.51. Netflix lost 9.13 percent to trade at $554.81, while AMD Advanced Micro Devices fell 5.76 percent to trade at $146.16.
The overall performance of the Nasdaq 100 in the current calendar year is 0.60 percent. The Nasdaq 100 is a stock index of the New York Stock Exchange Nasdaq, which primarily trades technology and growth stocks. The index includes the 100 largest stocks on the Nasdaq based on market capitalization and excludes stocks from the financial industry. The calculation of the index level is based solely on share prices without dividend payments.
