The NASDAQ 100 ultimately closed in the red. In NASDAQ trading, the index fell by 0.55 percent to 17,430.50 points. The NASDAQ 100 had previously started the trading day at 17,205.28 points with a decline of 1.83 percent. The daily low was reached at 17,172.42 units, while the highest level of the day was 17,474.46 points.
Regarding the development of the NASDAQ 100 within the last year, the index had a level of 12,725.11 points a year ago, on April 25, 2023. Since the beginning of 2024, the NASDAQ 100 has recorded an increase of 5.36 percent, with the annual high being 18,464.70 points and the annual low being 16,249.19 points.
Among the top stocks in the NASDAQ 100, AstraZeneca, Tesla, Keurig Dr Pepper, Marvell Technology and NVIDIA were on the winning side. In contrast, Meta Platforms (ex Facebook), Comcast, Sirius XM, Lucid and O Reilly Automotive recorded discounts. Tesla stock had the highest trading volume in the NASDAQ 100, while Microsoft had the largest market capitalization in the index.
When it comes to metrics like price-to-earnings ratio (P/E) and dividend yield, Walgreens Boots Alliance stock showed the lowest P/E ratio in the NASDAQ 100 and was projected to have the highest dividend yield in the index. The movements in the NASDAQ 100 reflect the fluctuations and developments within the market and show the dynamics in which technology stocks find themselves.
