Strong start to the week: Dow Jones continues its profit zone

The Dow Jones continues its positive development in the morning. On Friday, the Dow Jones recorded an increase of 0.46 percent to 37,948.58 points on the NYSE at 3:57 p.m. The total value of the stocks included in the index is 13.066 trillion euros. At the start of trading, the Dow Jones was 0.190 percent higher at 37,847.21 points after closing at 37,775.38 points the previous day. The daily high of the Dow Jones reached 37,964.24 points, while the daily low was 37,781.61 points.

On a weekly basis, the Dow Jones recorded a decline of 0.333 percent. Compared to the level a month ago, on March 19, 2024, when the index was at 39,110.76 points, there is a downward trend. Three months ago, on January 19, 2024, the Dow Jones was at 37,863.80 points, and a year ago, on April 19, 2023, it was at 33,897.01 points. Since the beginning of 2024, the index has recorded an increase of 0.619 percent with a high of 39,889.05 points and a low of 37,122.95 points.

Among the winners in the Dow Jones are stocks such as American Express, Chevron, Honeywell, UnitedHealth and JPMorgan Chase, which are recording positive price developments. On the other hand, Procter Gamble, Intel, Amazon, Apple and Walt Disney are showing falling prices and are under pressure. The most traded stock in the Dow Jones is currently Apple, while Microsoft shares have the highest stock market value in the index.

When it comes to dividend yields, Verizon stock has the lowest price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio, falling to 8.73, according to FactSet estimates. For 2024, the highest dividend yield is expected to be on Verizon shares at 6.65 percent.
