US stock market expects further upswing

The US stock market's recovery continues, with investors remaining optimistic at the start of an eventful week. Despite the prospect of fewer interest rate cuts this year, they are hoping for positive surprises in the current reporting season. The Dow Jones Industrial is expected to be 0.14 percent higher at 38,295 points, while the Nasdaq 100 is 0.38 percent higher than Friday's closing price at 17,785 points.

The reporting season takes a short break at the beginning of the week, but will pick up again from Tuesday. Particular attention is paid to the quarterly reports of companies such as Amazon on Tuesday and Apple on Thursday. Both have the potential to influence the market.

Furthermore, the US Federal Reserve Bank will publish its key interest rate decision on Wednesday. The US labor market report for April is due on Friday, which provides important data for the Fed's monetary policy decisions. The development of the labor market has a direct impact on inflation and thus on future interest rate decisions.

In premarket trading on Monday, Tesla posted a 13.6 percent increase. The electric car manufacturer overcame significant hurdles for the approval of its assistance systems in China, which could lead to a potential high price since the beginning of March. Apple shares rose 2.6 percent after Bernstein Research issued a positive rating. Despite the weak iPhone 15 cycle, weak demand in China is seen as temporary, not a structural problem.
