Dax reaches new high of over 17,000 points
The Dax continued its upward trend and temporarily rose to over 18,000 points, which corresponds to an increase of 1.55 percent compared to the previous day. Despite a loss of 2.31 percent since the beginning of April, the leading index remains strong. The Dax's fluctuation range on that day was 283.46 points, which is above the average fluctuation range of around 110 points.
The trading volume for DAX companies fell slightly compared to the previous 30 days to 68,174,402 shares traded. This represents a decrease of 1.12% compared to the monthly average. Overall, trading on the stock market was positive, with an increase of 2.26 percent for the week.
There were clear winners and losers among the DAX companies. Sartorius recorded the largest increase with an increase of 6.70 percent, while Deutsche Börse only recorded a minimal increase of 0.21 percent. E.ON was able to hold its own in second-to-last place with an increase of 0.36 percent.
In an international comparison, the Dow Jones Index on the New York Stock Exchange rose by 0.76 percent and reached 38,530.82 points. Nevertheless, the index is still 3.41 percent below its previous annual high of 39,889.05 points.
