DBS is looking for a new head of finance: the application deadline is closing soon!

The Paralympic Games are a significant highlight for athletes with disabilities and are at the center of the activities of the German Disabled Sports Association (DBS). The association, which has been active in the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) since 1951, has developed from a sports association for disabled people into a comprehensive organization that covers the entire spectrum of sports for people with disabilities. The DBS consists of 17 regional associations, 2 specialist associations, around 6,300 clubs and has around 510,000 members. A central concern of the DBS is the self-determination and participation of people with disabilities in sport.

The DBS is currently looking for a finance manager who will take responsibility for the association's finance department from September 1, 2025. The position is initially limited to two years, with the prospect of permanent employment. The tasks of this position include planning, preparing and controlling the association's budget as well as analyzing budget deviations. In addition, the coordination of financial transactions with banks and insurance companies will be one of the core tasks. This role requires an independent and structured way of working as well as a high affinity for numbers and analytical skills.

Requirements and offers

Applicants should have a university degree in finance or business administration and have several years of professional experience in a comparable position. Knowledge of commercial and tax law as well as association accounting is required, as is a confident use of accounting software, ideally DATEV, and very good Excel skills. Compensation is based on public service, and DBS actively promotes equality for all employees. The DBS is not only committed to competitive sports, but also to popular and rehabilitation sports. It is the largest provider of rehabilitation sports in Germany and covers over two thirds of all offers. The aim is to strengthen the competitiveness of top-level Paralympic sport and to improve the conditions for people with disabilities in sport. The association also pursues charitable purposes and is committed to the participation and social integration of people with disabilities. The association also offers over 1,000 training courses for trainers and trainers every year.
