Dow Jones soaring: Further price rise despite resistance!

On May 1, 2025, the Dow Jones will continue its winning streak from the previous day. According to the latest trading figures, the index is at 40,923.23 points at 3:55 p.m. on Thursday, an increase of 0.62 percent. The Dow Jones market value is currently 15.579 trillion euros.

At the start of Thursday trading, the index initially fell by 0.932 percent to 40,290.41 points. During the day, the Dow Jones reached its highest level of 40,944.52 points, while the daily low was 40,752.35 points. On a weekly basis, the Dow Jones recorded a gain of 1.87 percent. Compared to the previous year, the index is in a better position; on May 1, 2024 it was still at 37,903.29 points.

So far in 2025, the Dow Jones has recorded a decline of 3.47 percent. The annual high is 45,054.36 points, while the annual low was set at 36,611.78 points. Among the top stocks in the index are:

  • NVIDIA: +3,05% auf 112,24 USD
  • Amazon: +2,07% auf 188,23 USD
  • Caterpillar: +1,84% auf 314,95 USD
  • Salesforce: +1,12% auf 271,71 USD

On the other hand, there are also flop stocks including:

  • Amgen: -1,95% auf 285,25 USD
  • Merck: -1,37% auf 84,03 USD
  • IBM: -1,15% auf 239,05 USD
  • Johnson & Johnson: -1,13% auf 154,54 USD
  • UnitedHealth: -1,10% auf 406,93 USD

NVIDIA also recorded the largest trading volume with 9,010,716 shares traded, while Apple has the highest valuation in the Dow Jones with a market capitalization of 2.826 trillion euros. Verizon has the lowest price-earnings ratio (P/E) of 9.41, while Verizon offers the highest dividend yield in the index at 6.21% finance.net reported.

In addition, current trading data from various indices were published. The NYSE was trading at $139,230 at around 2:02:22 p.m., up 0.23%. The Nasdaq, on the other hand, traded at $187,930, up 1.90%, according to data from Onvista.
