Finanz.net Zero: Free children's portfolio for smart wealth creation!

Finanz.net Zero's new children's portfolio, which was presented today, June 18, 2025, offers parents the opportunity to build up assets for their children at an early stage. This innovative portfolio is free of charge and enables digital opening, accompanied by many flexible investment options.

Finanz.net Zero allows access to a wide range of financial products, including over 2,300 ETFs, 8,500 stocks, 3,000 funds and 58 cryptocurrencies. Parents can set up savings plans starting at one euro per month, which makes the deposit attractive for many families. As part of a current promotion, a monthly bonus of 10 euros is granted for ETF savings plans that have an amount of at least 25 euros and is available until the end of the year. There are no order fees for using the depot, but a small quantity surcharge is charged for orders under 500 euros.

Further conditions and benefits

The custody account belongs to the child and is managed by the parents until they reach adulthood. From the age of 18, children have full access to their assets, including all income, making it an effective wealth creation measure. The tax advantage is also not to be neglected: capital gains of up to 1,000 euros per year are tax-free and thanks to the non-assessment certificate, even income of up to 13,132 euros can remain tax-free.

The depot can be accessed conveniently via app or browser. There are no automated portfolio management or advice available, making the portfolio ideal for self-managed investments. In order to open a child custody account, all persons with legal custody must have their own custody account at Finanz.net Zero. It is also possible to have several children's depots per family, although grandparents or godparents are not allowed to open their own depository.

Comparison with competitors

Compared to other providers such as Trade Republic, Scalable Capital and Consorsbank, the Finanz.net Zero children's depot performs well. Trade Republic charges an order fee of one euro and offers over 2,600 ETF savings plans, while Scalable Capital is planning a similar children's portfolio for the summer of 2025, but also with order fees of 0.99 euros per trade. Consorsbank, on the other hand, offers a free custody account with telephone advice, but with higher fees for savings plans.

Overall, children's deposit accounts offer an attractive opportunity to build up assets for the youngest children due to higher return potential than traditional savings accounts or insurance policies. In addition to the financial aspect, the importance of individual investments such as current accounts, fixed-term deposits and investment funds is also highlighted. The idea behind these offers is to help parents secure their children's financial future at an early stage.
