Flixtrain conquers Germany: 200 new cities with combination tickets!
Flixtrain, Deutsche Bahn's emerging rival in long-distance transport, is expanding its regional transport offering! The popular transport brand has strengthened its cooperation with regional train operators in the Germany tariff association, and that means: An incredible 200 additional cities can now be reached with combination tickets that combine FlixTrain and regional train journeys. Passengers can now seamlessly transfer from long-distance train stations to regional networks, often operated by Deutsche Bahn.
However, the green Flixtrain trains will remain on long-distance routes, including important connections between Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. Flix, known for its environmentally friendly Flixbuses, is aiming for rapid growth by rail. “This cooperation is a decisive step towards connecting many cities throughout Germany, even outside of the metropolitan regions,” says the company. While Flixtrain currently only has a small market share in the upper single-digit percentage range, this expansion shows that planning for the future is already in full swing.
