Frankfurt: Financial center of the future – strong with innovation and collaboration!
The financial center of Frankfurt, as an important hub of the European financial markets, is the focus of current political and economic discussions. Professor Dr. R. Alexander Lorz, Finance Minister of Hesse, emphasizes the central role of Frankfurt for the stability and further development of the German financial industry. According to Lorz, promoting and strengthening this financial center is essential to ensure competitiveness in times of global uncertainty. He emphasizes that all levels, both political and economic, must work together to achieve these goals. This is underlined by the federal government's support in the current coalition agreement, which recognizes Frankfurt as Germany's financial center. Hessen.de reports on this and highlights the need to actively expand the strengths of the financial center.
The Free Democrats (FDP) also underline the importance of the Frankfurt financial center for the entire German financial industry. Around 600,000 people are employed in the financial sector in Germany, with around 70,000 of them working in Frankfurt and over 300 banks having their headquarters in the city. In addition, almost 100,000 people work in insurance, financial services and related companies in Frankfurt. FDP Hesse therefore calls for a clear commitment from the Federal Government to the financial sector and concrete measures to strengthen the Frankfurt financial center in international competition.
Measures to strengthen the financial center
In order to further improve Frankfurt's competitiveness, the FDP has developed an agenda with eight central measures. These include:
These approaches aim to secure and expand Frankfurt as a leading financial location. In times of economic uncertainty, it is crucial for the entire Hesse and Germany region to strengthen the position of the financial center and promote innovative solutions.
