Intesa Sanpaolo: Preliminary figures indicate a decline in sales!
Intesa Sanpaolo, one of the largest financial institutions in Italy, will announce its financial figures for the fourth quarter of 2024 on February 4, 2025. According to a recent analysis conducted by finance.net was published, four analysts expect average earnings per share (EPS) of EUR 0.088. This represents a slight decrease compared to the same quarter last year, in which EPS was 0.090 euros.
Sales forecasts show significant weakness, as 11 analysts expect a decline of 50.82% to 6.57 billion euros, while sales in the same period last year were 13.36 billion euros. For the entire fiscal year 2024, 21 analysts are forecasting an average EPS of 0.481 euros, which would represent an increase compared to the previous year (0.420 euros). Sales are estimated by 17 analysts at an average of 27.02 billion euros, which also represents a decrease compared to the previous year's value of 48.47 billion euros.
Current price development
On February 3, 2025, the shares of Intesa Sanpaolo were listed on the Borsa Italiana at 4.143 euros, as MarketScreener reported. The price has declined by 1.19% in the last five days and by 0.79% since the beginning of the year. However, compared to the beginning of the year, the share price increased by 7.25%.
JPMorgan has left its rating for Intesa Sanpaolo at “Overweight” and set a price target of 5 euros. This recommendation is not the only one that shows trust in the bank; UBS and Goldman Sachs have also classified the share as “Buy”, with target prices of EUR 4.95 and EUR 4.20 respectively.
