Criticism of the pension rate: Young liberals hold the FDP party conference self-critically

The Young Liberals showed their critical self-image at the FDP federal party conference in Berlin. Franziska Brandmann, the chairwoman of JuLis, talks about her relationship with Christian Lindner, her criticism of the traffic light coalition's pension policy and how she celebrates her birthday during the party conference.

Brandmann emphasizes that the implementation of the slogan “economic turnaround” should now lead to concrete measures. She calls on the coalition partners to submit their own proposals to strengthen Germany as a business location. In particular, she warns that the pension package in its current form is not generationally fair.

Despite the criticism of the pension package, Brandmann is satisfied that the party conference followed the JuLis' amendment. She praises Lindner for representing the liberal position well, especially with regard to the debt brake. Although she would have liked more of an FDP profile when it came to pensions, she praised Lindner's assertiveness in many areas.

Brandmann emphasizes that she spoke personally with Lindner about the rejection of the pension package. She is confident that the JuLis have been able to send a clear message against the current pension policy. The group focuses on local election campaigns and supports candidates like Zyon Braun in Brandenburg.

It will be Brandmann's birthday at the second party conference, which she will celebrate with a visit to a museum and a picnic with friends after the official end. She reiterates her willingness to support young liberal content at the party conference.
