Livestream series: Financial literacy for young Hessians in November!
Next November, the Hessian Ministry of Finance will launch an innovative digital event series entitled "60 minutes for your finances - financial competence. Made in Hesse." The series consists of four livestream events that are aimed particularly at young adults. The aim is to provide practical and understandable information on financial topics that are of great importance for a stable future.
The events take place on four Tuesday evenings and cover central topics such as investments, risk management, cryptocurrencies and finance in partnerships. Finance Minister Professor Dr. R. Alexander Lorz emphasizes the importance of early financial education and highlights the relevance of financial literacy for society. He explains that such knowledge helps ensure financial stability.
Topic of the live streams
The first event will take place on November 4th, with Professor Dr. Andreas Hackethal spoke about risk management in private investments. On November 11th, Professor Dr. Sebastian Omlor and Professor Dr. Dominik Skauradszun the legal framework surrounding cryptocurrencies. This session will address the opportunities and limitations of digital financial products.
On November 18th, Emil Nefzger will take up the topic of financial design in partnerships and give tips for personal conversations about finances. The series concludes on November 25th with Professor Dr. Christine Laudenbach, who deals with the psychological aspects of dealing with money. Her insight that confidence is essential when talking about money is reflected in the series' goals to encourage such conversations and challenge old beliefs.
Break down barriers
The events are designed to be low-threshold, meaning that no registration or previous knowledge is required. This makes it possible to reach a wide audience and give everyone the opportunity to participate in the live streams. The experts emphasize the social relevance of financial knowledge and the need to create the foundations for a secure financial future.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy based on the results of the Hessenmonitor on financial education. This scientific background underlines the urgency of supporting young people in their financial education. Additional information is available on the websites finanzen.hessen.de and finanzcompetence.hessen.de available.
Another aspect of the series of events becomes visible in the Austrian competency framework for financial education, which also deals with the issues of financial decision-making and dealing with money. These comprehensive resources are intended to help significantly strengthen the financial literacy of the young generation.
