Mini job in retirement: increase your pension despite working
Some retirees choose to continue working after retirement, either for financial reasons or to continue to have a job. There are special regulations for mini-jobs that must be observed. With the Flexi pension, pensioners have the opportunity to individually design the transition from working life to retirement. Many pensioners work beyond the standard retirement age or take early retirement and still have a job. They earn a maximum of 538 euros per month.
By paying pension insurance contributions in a mini-job, the monthly pension can be increased. If you earn 538 euros per month, your pension will increase by five euros after one year. However, it is important not to avoid the insurance requirement, as this can lead to only proportional pay points and the foregoing of benefits such as the entitlement to transitional allowance for rehabilitation measures. Since the change in the law last year, early retirees have been able to earn unlimited amounts without having to accept deductions.
Different additional earnings limits apply to types of pensions such as widows’ pensions. The allowance for a widow's pension, for example, is 992.64 euros. Mini-jobs and early retirement can reduce the widow's pension. In general, income must be taxed if it exceeds the basic tax allowance of 11,604 euros. Pensioners also have the opportunity to work several mini-jobs as long as their average earnings do not exceed 538 euros per month. Last year, the number of people aged between 63 and 67 who are subject to social security contributions and those in marginal employment rose to 1.67 million.
It is important to note that many retirees work in retirement for reasons other than financial necessity, primarily social and personal motives. These include, for example, the desire to have a task. Qualified mini-jobs for pensioners are available at certain contact points in order to remain active in professional life.
