New finance manager in Ahaus: Stefan Brömmelhaus takes responsibility!

There is a change at the top in the finance department of the city of Ahaus. Stefan Brömmelhaus has been appointed as the new leader after taking over the responsibility since the end of last year. Brömmelhaus had previously worked in the department since 2017 and was responsible for the areas of asset accounting, budget and annual financial statements. From October 2023 he was also deputy head of department.

The 31-year-old Brömmelhaus is a native of Ahaus. After his training in the middle service at the Coesfeld district, he completed a Bachelor of Laws course at the city of Ahaus. In 2022 he successfully acquired his master's degree at the North Rhine-Westphalia University of Police and Public Administration.

Tasks of the new department head

The central tasks of the finance department include long-term financial planning, the implementation of the property tax reform and the preparation of budgets and annual financial statements. Brömmelhaus succeeds Marco Schröder, who was elected and appointed city councilor in a new role.

In addition, the city of Ahaus appeals to property owners to submit their property tax returns to the tax office in a timely manner. The deadline for submitting the property tax return was October 31, 2022, as Presse-Service.de reported. Property owners have the option of submitting their declarations online via the ELSTER portal or processing them using alternative software providers.

The responsibility for receiving and processing the declarations lies with the Ahaus tax office, which is why the city of Ahaus is not involved in the processing. Further information on property-related data is available in the digital property tax portal, which is based on the information from the property cadastre and standard land values as of January 1, 2022. A property tax hotline is available for individual questions.
