Stefan Brömmelhaus: New CFO in Ahaus – What’s behind the election?
Stefan Brömmelhaus has been the new head of the finance department for the city of Ahaus since the end of last year. The 31-year-old is a native of Ahauser and has extensive experience in finance. He has been working in the department since 2017 and was previously responsible for asset accounting, the budget and the annual financial statements. Most recently, he held the position of deputy head of department, which he has held since October 2023.
Brömmelhaus initially completed training in the middle service at the Coesfeld district and then completed a Bachelor of Laws course at the city of Ahaus. In 2022 he completed his master's degree at the North Rhine-Westphalia University of Police and Public Administration. In his new role, he will take on important tasks, including long-term financial planning, handling property tax reform and preparing budgets and annual financial statements. He succeeds Marco Schröder, who was elected and appointed as a city councilor.
Information on property tax reform
In another connection with the finances of the city of Ahaus, the city appeals to property owners to submit their property tax returns to the Ahaus tax office in a timely manner. The deadline for submitting the declaration was October 31, 2022. The declaration can be submitted online via the ELSTER portal. Alternatively, property owners can also use other software providers, such as the Federal Ministry of Finance's online service “Property Tax Return for Private Property”.
The city of Ahaus emphasizes that it is not involved in the processing of the submitted declarations. The Ahaus tax office is responsible for receiving and processing property tax returns. A property tax hotline is available for individual questions from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The Ahaus tax office hotline can be reached at (02561) 929-1959.
