Xiaomi SU7 Max surpasses Tesla Model 3 in range and performance

Xiaomi has made its first step into the electric car market after three years of announcements, introducing the SU7 model in December 2023. This electric car is available in two variants: the regular SU7 and the more powerful SU7 Max. Both versions boast impressive specifications, especially in terms of range. Xiaomi claims that the SU7 can achieve a range of 800 km and the SU7 Max can achieve a range of 660 km according to the Chinese CLTC test procedure.

The Chinese trade magazine Dongchendi subjected the Xiaomi SU7 Max to a practical test and compared the results with other electric cars, including the Tesla Model 3 Highland and the Nio ET5. In terms of range, the Xiaomi SU7 Max was able to cover a distance of 643 km, while the Tesla Model 3 Highland achieved a range of 568 km. The Xiaomi SU7 Max outperformed the Tesla Model 3 by an impressive 75 km.

In addition to the range, the performance of the electric cars was also tested. The Xiaomi SU7 Max proved to be the fastest vehicle, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.24 seconds. In comparison, the Nio ET5 took 3.83 seconds and the Tesla Model 3 Highland was in last place at 4.62 seconds. The Xiaomi SU7 Max also beat its competitors in the quarter-mile race with a time of 11.17 seconds.

Overall, the Xiaomi SU7 Max was able to impress not only with its impressive range, but also with its excellent acceleration performance compared to the Tesla Model 3. Xiaomi is showing a strong presence with its entry into the electric car market, delivering vehicles with competitive performance and range.
