Austrian Alpine Open: Golf elite delights fans in Henndorf!

The Austrian Alpine Open, which is held in Henndorf am Wallersee in Flachgau, has become a real crowd puller for golf fans from all over Europe. Today, May 31, 2025, marks the third of four exciting tournament days on the Gut Altentann golf course. Numerous fans came to experience the event live and to follow the skills of their favorites. The managing director of the Gut Altentann Golf Club, Karl Czernin, is optimistic about the large number of visitors and the success of the return of such top-class sporting events to Salzburg. Visitors to the tournament only give positive feedback and enjoy the atmospheric conditions of the event.

Austria's golf professional Matthias Schwab survived the cut and is accompanied by many fans. However, in today's round Schwab played three shots over par, which significantly reduced his chances of winning. Maximilian Steinlechner from Innsbruck, on the other hand, has better cards: He showed a strong performance on Saturday with a round of 66 (-4) and is in the top ten with nine shots under par, tied with Schwab in 28th place, which increases his chances of victory.

Performances of the Austrian players

Maximilian Steinlechner not only scored a round of 66, but also set an exclamation mark with an eagle and several birdies, including on the 18th hole. Lukas Nemecz, on the other hand, was less lucky and failed to make the cut with a round of 74 (+3), despite a birdie on hole 7. Bernd Wiesberger was able to improve with a round of 67 (-3) and secured the cut with a total score of -1.

Matthias Schwab, the best Austrian in the overall ranking, is at -3. Niklas Regner missed the cut by one shot after two even-par rounds. Timon Baltl had difficulties with the putter and was unable to benefit from his many green hits. The ÖGV squad player Lukas Boandl achieved the best result among the squad players with a 71 (+1). Further results show that Christoph Bleier and Fabian Lang improved to 72 (+2), while Fabio Fischer recorded 75/72 (+7).
