As part of a strategic realignment, Deka Immobilien has sold two logistics locations in the greater Paris area. The sale takes place in a market environment characterized by rental agreements that are about to expire for the new owner. Loud Real estate newspaper This aspect will be crucial for the future profitability of the properties.

With this step, Deka Immobilien aims to positively redesign its portfolio, which is important in the context of current market developments. The logistics industry is increasingly shaping the real estate landscape, which is also clear when you look at the activities of providers such as FIEGE.

FIEGE: Tradition meets sustainability

Deka Immobilien is not alone in this changing market. FIEGE, a fifth-generation logistics company steeped in tradition, has over 150 years of experience in the industry. The company attaches great importance to sustainability and energy-saving measures, which is also reflected in the development of new logistics buildings. An example of this is a new logistics building in the Peine Ost industrial area that meets the requirements of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and is certified silver.

The new logistics center in Peine offers an impressive 30,000 square meters of logistics space on a 65,000 square meter plot. It includes three halls and two office buildings in front and is ideal for omnichannel logistics in the consumer goods sector. The logistical connections are excellent, only 25 km from Braunschweig and 45 km from Hanover, and also close to the seaports of Bremerhaven, Hamburg and Wilhelmshaven.

An energy concept with monitoring should further increase efficiency. Particularly noteworthy is the planned use of a photovoltaic system. The first part with around 8,000 solar modules will be put into operation in May 2024, followed by the second part in October 2024. The total output of the PV system will be 3,260 kilowatt peak (kWp), with an annual electricity production of up to 2.7 gigawatt hours, which is enough for around 700 households.

The logistics center only requires a small portion of the electricity generated itself, while during peak times up to 90 percent of the solar power generated can be fed into the public grid. This is done by Deka Real Estate seen as a further step towards sustainable logistics.
