DFB sells real estate in Frankfurt
The German Football Association (DFB) is planning to sell several properties in Frankfurt, including office buildings and single-family homes in Bockenheim. The DFB wants to release financial resources with a real estate portfolio totaling 13,800 square meters of office space and around 3,600 square meters of living space. For this purpose, the association commissioned the real estate agent Colliers to sell the old DFB central administration on the Otto-Fleck-Schneise in the Frankfurt city forest as well as the adjacent parking garage.
In addition, the DFB plans to sell further properties in Bockenheim, including the former DGB central administration on Zeppelinallee, the adjacent “Atelierhaus” as well as six apartment buildings and six single-family houses in the diplomatic quarter. The sale of these properties is intended to give the association the opportunity to release liquid funds to repay loans for the new DFB campus. Stephan Grunwald, treasurer of the DFB, described the sale of the properties as a consistent step in the context of budget consolidation.
The DFB's focus is on getting rid of unused properties and concentrating on its core business. With the sale of the real estate in Frankfurt, the financial resources will be used to repay loans in order to strengthen the association's economic situation. This step is intended to provide financial relief, allowing the DFB to improve its financial stability and focus on future projects.
