In Eckernförde, the historic Kaiserhof, a former hotel, dance hall and brothel property, has suffered from neglect for many years. Kaiserhof Immobilien GmbH took over the building in 2022 with the aim of subjecting the time-honored structure to a comprehensive renovation project. The aim of the measures is to restore the imperial court, which was built in 1882 and is classified as a cultural monument, to its former charm. However, it remains unclear whether the building ever housed an emperor.

Renovation work in progress
The dismantling of the roof structure has already been completed and the statics in the basement have been prepared. The challenging work also includes securing the listed south and west walls. Parallel to the work on the Kaiserhof, excavation work will also be carried out on the adjacent former Lindenhof site, where a new development with three apartment buildings is planned. A total of 19 condominiums are planned there with prices between 265,000 and 815,000 euros.
Apartments with exclusive views
The five new apartments with sizes between 94 and 156 square meters will be built in the Kaiserhof, with one apartment having already been allocated. These apartments offer a view of Eckernförde Bay, the marina and the old town. The total costs for the Kaiserhof and Lindenhof projects amount to around 16 million euros.
