Exorbitant additional costs: Tenants in Neu-Isenburg are suing Deutsche Invest Immobilien

The residents of four residential buildings with a total of 192 residential units in Neu-Isenburg have made serious allegations against the insolvent owner Deutsche Invest Immobilien (d.i.i.). Anton P. is particularly affected, as he was confronted with exorbitant utility bills. After receiving an additional payment of 3,142 euros for 2022, he was also supposed to prepay 349 euros a month for additional costs, which was almost double the amount compared to the previous year.

Under the pressure of reminders and threats of enforcement, Anton P. was forced to transfer the requested amounts. After consulting with the Frankfurt Tenant Protection Association, it turned out that the cost statements for many tenants in the building were incorrect. The d.i.i. had charged unreasonably high costs for caretaker and garden maintenance and refused to see the billing documents.

In addition to Anton P., other residents are also affected and are now considering taking legal action against the claims. Another d.i.i. building in Neu-Isenburg, Friedhofstrasse 23, has similar problems. The property manager was reportedly terminated, leading to problems such as uncleaned stairwells and clogged water drains. Residents are concerned that their advance payments and rental deposits are at risk due to the risk of bankruptcy.

Deutsche Invest Immobilien justifies the sudden increase in additional costs with higher heating costs, increased insurance costs and efficiency improvements in the caretaker service. The company emphasizes that the deposits and advance payments are securely invested in accordance with legal regulations. Nevertheless, the affected tenants are considering legal action against d.i.i. and hope for a fair solution in this difficult situation.
