Financial expert warns: Houses in Unna in danger of collapsing - residents must be evacuated

According to a report by www.waz.de, 20 houses in Unna had to be temporarily evacuated on Saturday evening due to the possible risk of collapse. The residents discovered cracks in their houses and water in the basement, whereupon the fire brigade and experts from the Technical Relief Agency were called in for advice. Emergency crews determined that one building was in danger of collapsing and cordoned it off, while further investigations revealed that other buildings on the street were also affected. A total of 37 residents had to leave their houses, but were later able to return after experts examined the evacuated buildings, with the exception of two houses for which entry was banned.

Research into the causes is still ongoing, and external experts will conduct drilling to determine how large the erosion is and exactly where it runs. The affected area will remain closed until the investigation is completed.
