Heating failure in Bremen-Huchting: Trust administration appointed
The authorities in Bremen are planning to set up a trust administration to solve problems with the heating systems in apartment buildings in Bremen-Huchting. Specifically, these are two residential buildings in Robinsbalje. According to Christian Schlesselmann, head of the Huchting local office, the trust administration should ensure that residents can soon be provided with heating again. The heating in both apartment blocks hasn't worked for weeks because the energy supplier SWB turned off the gas due to the owner's unpaid bills.
To address this situation, the Interior Authority plans to appoint a trustee to take over the management of the affected properties. This would be the first time that such a law has been used in Bremen to take action against landlords who neglect their obligations. Tenants recently had to go without heating in the cold temperatures, even though they had made their rent payments.
A total of 16 apartments are affected by the heating problems, including families with children like Oday Elias, who suffers from the cold despite the fan heater. In some apartments, mold problems have already developed due to the heating failure. The trust administration's measure is intended to ensure that residents can be provided with functioning heating again as quickly as possible.
