Heroines of Lake Constance: Three girls swim 6.3 kilometers against the wind!

Loud Schwäbische.de They are the youngest people to ever cross a lake and completed the route from Lindau to Bregenz, which was extended from the original five to 6.34 kilometers due to strong winds.

The swimming start took place at 11:15 a.m. on the small beach at the Lindau Greberschanze. After 3:47.53 hours, the girls got out of the water on the stone beach in Bregenz shortly after 3 p.m. They started in optimal external conditions of 18 degrees air and 22 degrees water temperature to the applause of numerous spectators.

Support team and challenges

The swimming team, which consisted of the three girls and their accompanying team, traveled from Friedrichshafen, where they had previously trained in Lake Constance. Oliver Halder from the organization “Lake Constance Crossing” documented the swim from a support boat, which was piloted by Michael Hindelang. Also in the boat were the girls' mothers and Tamogna's father, Tulasi Chaitanya.

During the swim, the children had short food breaks every 30 minutes during which they received isotonic drinks, marshmallows, cookies and waffle rolls. But the external conditions changed as the swim progressed: the wind and waves increased, which increased the challenges. Aashritha faced difficulty in the last kilometer but refused to get into the boat.

Security and record ambitions

Experienced open water swimmer Krishna Dimple entered the water as the second adult to support the young swimmers. Oliver Halder emphasized that there was never any risk for the girls and that they were absolute professionals. Tulasi Chaitanya explained the possibility of a world record as two five-year-olds had never swum a 6.3-kilometer distance outdoors before.

After returning to Friedrichshafen, the girls made a quick phone call to their families and quickly fell asleep. Monday was planned for recovery before returning home on Tuesday.
