Real estate market in the Höxter district: Less buying activity in 2023

In the Höxter district, sales on the real estate market fell significantly last year. Both the number of real estate transactions and monetary turnover fell by more than 30 percent in 2023. This continues the sharp decline already recorded last year and means that the real estate market in the Höxter district is currently at the level it was five to six years ago.

Interestingly, the prices for one- and two-family homes in the Höxter district have remained almost stable despite the declining market. On average, the price for these properties in 2023 was around 180,000 euros. The report by the expert committee for property values ​​emphasizes that these houses in the Höxter district are still comparatively affordable.

Last year, a total of 385 single- and two-family houses changed hands in the Höxter district. What is striking is that 60 percent of these properties are located in a rural village. These figures illustrate the ongoing challenge on the real estate market in the Höxter district and show that outdoor areas are particularly of interest to property buyers.
