Real estate speculator fights for Görlitz house: bidding roulette continues!

On Tuesday morning, the house at Rauschwalder Straße 61 in Görlitz was put up for compulsory auction. The real estate speculator Karl-Leo Spettmann from Geldern took part in an auction for the first time after his release from prison. On this occasion, Spettmann offered 8,888 euros, which was only marginally higher than the court costs of 8,300 euros.

He was the only bidder and his partner Loreen Peters was also present but did not comment. The contract was not awarded because the market value of the house was estimated at 280,000 euros. At the first auction, at least 50 percent of the market value had to be bid, which in this case meant 140,000 euros.

No other bidders

The auction did not attract any further interested parties. Despite Spettmann's offer, no one was willing to pay the asking price of at least 140,000 euros. This resulted in the first auction date ending without a winning bid.

Spettmann plans to bid again at the next auction date. His desired bid removes the 50 percent limit for the next date, which may give him a better chance of success.

In addition, a Berlin investor had previously bought the neighboring house, the corner house on Cottbuserstrasse/Rauschwalder Strasse, at auction, which may have influenced interest in this property.

The developments surrounding real estate auctions in the region show that despite Spettmann's low bid, there is a certain level of buyer interest, which is, however, limited by the high market values.
