Lörrach sings unplugged: Singing day celebrates a cappella tradition!
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the 22nd edition of the singing day “Lörrach sings!” will take place in downtown Lörrach. instead of. Organized by Rebecca Mack from Burghof, the focus is on unamplified a cappella singing under the motto “Back to the roots”. The traditional event expects between 850 and 900 singers, most of whom will perform without technical support this year, which underlines the charm of the former singing day.
The event will be opened at 10 a.m. on the Old Market Square by the Hebelschule. The final concert is expected to take place on the market square at 5 p.m. and will be performed by the artist Theresa Dold with Alemannic songs and her own compositions. The event is very popular, both among singers and the audience.
Singing locations and program details
The singing locations where the choirs perform are somewhat reduced this year, as the number of locations has decreased from seven to five. The remaining locations are the courtyard of the Dreiländermuseum, the market square, the Hirschenbrunnen, the Hebelpark, the C & A stairs as well as Tempus Fugit and the castle courtyard. These locations were chosen, among other things, because the station square was perceived as too restless. The town church cannot be used due to construction work, and the outdoor stage on the gravel square next to the castle courtyard has not been set up either.
A flyer will be printed to provide all important information about locations and times during the event. The sing-along offerings, presented by different choirs in different styles, make the event a unique experience for all visitors. The participating choirs include Gospeltrain, Sonett and Soul Family from Freiburg, as well as a joint choir from FES elementary school and Karl Rolfus School with an impressive 80 singers.
The organizers are hoping for as great a response as last year, when almost 1,000 singers took part in the event. The program and sing-along offers will be announced shortly, which will further increase the anticipation of participants and visitors. Admission to the event is free and allows anyone interested to experience the joy of singing and music.
