Tenant drama in Nachrodt: ownership and liability issues unclear

After long disputes with the owner Caesar, the tenants at Nachrodter Feld have entered a quieter phase. In the past there have been problems such as missing oil deliveries, mold in the apartments and additional costs not being passed on. However, now there was news regarding the ownership of the houses. It was reported that Ivory Properties Management 1 to 3 from Luxembourg acquired the houses in December 2022. However, the purchase contract has not yet been concluded and officially everything still belongs to Caesar.

Armin Speckmann, the tenants' lawyer, informed the residents about the unclear situation. There was speculation as to whether the delay was related to a possible notice of conveyance in the land register in order to protect the property from creditors. However, this theory could not be proven. This unclear situation makes it difficult for tenants to assert their rights against the landlord should further problems arise, such as missing oil again or structural damage.

The tenants now pay their rent to the new management, Barton-Schreiber GmbH from Bonn. Although the new administration is perceived as more sensible, there have still been occasional problems, such as a heating interruption in two houses. It was noted that a comprehensive renovation of the houses was very unlikely under a certain budget. An architect is even said to have mentioned that demolishing the houses was the only solution. The future of the properties on Nachrodter Feld therefore remains uncertain, and tenants have to deal with the uncertain situation.
