Right-wing extremist real estate in Hesse: Dangerous meeting places exposed!

Hessian security authorities have identified six properties in the state as being used by right-wing extremists. These objects are the focus of intensive observations and preventive measures aimed at countering right-wing extremist activities. According to the current data from sueddeutsche.de Particularly prominent among these properties are the Ludenbeck cultural center in the Kassel district and the Richberg house in the Schwalm-Eder district.

The Ludenbeck Cultural Center has been inhabited by a right-wing extremist since the end of 2020 and acts as a national venue for the right-wing extremist scene. Most recently, a “winter solstice celebration” took place there in December 2023, with a lecture given in April 2024, the speaker of which was a nurse of Rudolf Heß. These events highlight the continued use of the property for extremist ideas.

Right-wing extremist scene properties in Hesse

In the Schwalm-Eder district, the Richberg house has been known as a base for the right-wing extremist scene for decades. The “III. Weg base Kurhessen” was founded here in March 2023, which is connected to a small right-wing extremist party. These developments shed a worrying light on the radical presence in the region.

Another property in the Kassel district is used commercially by Klosterhaus Verlag, which specializes in the distribution of writings by extremist authors. This publishing house is run by a right-wing extremist who was previously convicted of Holocaust denial. This shows how closely interwoven the right-wing extremist ideology is with the company structures in the region.

In addition, the connection house of the Marburg fraternity Germania is a place where right-wing extremist scene events regularly take place. Two further properties, the details of which could not be published for confidentiality reasons, round off the list of properties in Hesse used by right-wing extremists.

Prevention and advice from the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution

The State Office for the Protection of the Constitution (LfV) offers municipalities comprehensive advice in order to warn early against the purchase or use of real estate by right-wing extremists, Reich citizens and self-managers. The measures also include advice regarding the now banned group Kingdom of Germany. Thanks to these preventative steps, the long-term use of properties in Hasselroth (Main-Kinzig district) and Frankfurt could be prevented.

A special part of the prevention work is the Competence Center for Right-Wing Extremism (KOREX), which offers educational information in the form of public lectures, training courses and seminars. The offerings aim to raise public awareness of right-wing extremist phenomena and to provide strategies for identifying and exposing them. In addition, KOREX offers individual prevention measures to address the specific needs of disruptive factors in society, such as lfv.hessen.de reported.

The preventive activities are aimed, among other things, at schools and include various offers such as teacher training, workshops for school classes and discussions with potentially radicalized people. These measures attempt to counteract right-wing extremist tendencies in society at an early stage.
