Turkish-Islamic cultural association buys property; Renovation planned for summer
The Turkish-Islamic cultural association Ditib in Illertissen has acquired a Wilhelminian style villa after a long-term search. The property, which is located just 100 meters from its previous location, will be renovated by the summer. The association was previously a tenant in a commercial building and is now planning to use the property as a new home. After more than 50 years in Illertissen and several moves, it has been a long-held wish for the club to own its own property. Chairman Enver Durman reports that this was not an easy task due to the association's special requirements and limited financial resources.
Nine years ago there were plans to build a new cultural center, but these were initially postponed due to city council decisions. Now the club has finally managed to find and purchase a suitable property. The renovation of the Wilhelminian style villa is expected to be completed by the summer, but a first event to which the public is invited is planned for the end of April. With the purchase of the villa, the Turkish-Islamic cultural association Ditib is strengthening its presence in Illertissen and creating long-term prospects for its association work.
