Werler real estate agent cheats Dortmund couple out of 180,000 euros

A Dortmund couple was defrauded of 180,000 euros by a real estate agent from Werl, as was discovered before the Werl district court. The real estate agent, who was also charged with delaying bankruptcy, is said to have taken the couple's money that was intended to buy a house. Despite the broker's high level of debt, the court did not proceed with the delay in insolvency because the fraud allegation was more serious.

The cheated couple planned to move into a new house with their parents and foster children. They had given the agent a loan of 180,000 euros so that he could buy a house and sell it for them at a profit. However, the real estate agent used the money for other purposes and still owes it to the couple to this day.

The resulting situation forced those affected to cancel the purchase contract for the new house, which led to significant problems. Nevertheless, they were able to find alternative accommodation for the parents. The woman explained in court that she no longer wanted to have contact with the real estate agent and would probably never have done business with him if she had known about his previous convictions. The broker was sentenced to a one-year prison sentence, which was suspended with the requirement to complete 100 hours of community service and to reimburse assets equal to the amount of the damage.

The criminal judge advised the real estate agent to clarify his financial affairs as he was already on the way to insolvency or was already in the process of doing so. The tragic story highlights the importance of trusting the right real estate agents and the need to carefully consider who you do business with to prevent fraud and financial loss.
