Ark Invest: Focus on ETFs with high volatility

The renowned US investor Cathie Wood is entering the European financial scene with her innovative investment products. Wood, founder and CEO of Ark Invest, has launched three actively managed ETFs in Europe since the beginning of April. These ETFs, which were previously successfully established in the USA, are now also available here. The analyst firm Scope has subjected Ark's products to intensive testing.

According to Scope's analysis, Ark funds are not for the faint-hearted due to their high volatility. Investors who want to invest in fast-growing industries or innovative ideas must be prepared for significant fluctuations in value. Cathie Wood has always focused its investment on innovations that lead to growth. Ark Invest focuses on five cross-industry topics: robotics, energy storage, DNA sequencing, artificial intelligence and blockchain technology.

Ark Invest has various investment instruments in its portfolio in the USA, but these products were not yet available in Europe. This changed when Ark Invest acquired London-based Rize, which offers thematic ETFs, in September last year. Ark products are now being introduced in Europe via this platform. The first three actively managed ETFs, two of which are already established in the US, are now available on the European market.

The Ark Innovation ETF, the company's flagship product, does not only focus on tech stocks, but is broadly diversified. Despite a 23 percent share of the tech sector in the portfolio, healthcare and financial services are also heavily weighted. With a volume of 95 percent in US stocks, the ETF is not regionally limited. Despite the high volatility, the fund's value has seen spectacular developments in recent years, both positive and negative.

The Ark Genomic Revolution ETF, which focuses on companies leveraging developments in genomics, also has extreme volatility that exceeds its peers. The Ark Artificial Intelligence & Robotics ETF combines artificial intelligence and robotics and, like the other ETFs, shows high volatility compared to corresponding products. These new ETFs signal an interesting introduction by Cathie Wood to the European market and offer investors the opportunity to benefit from innovative investment opportunities.
