Ba Na – Suoi Mo: The new tourism project revolutionizes Da Nang!

On May 18, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha approved Decision No. 946/QD-TTg on the adjustment of Ba Na – Suoi Mo Tourist Complex. This decision is based on a proposal from the Ministry of Finance in cooperation with various ministries and the Da Nang People's Committee. The official name of the adapted project is “Ba Na – Suoi Mo Urban and Eco-Tourism Complex Project”.

The aim of this significant project is to develop the region into a premier tourist destination in Vietnam. The focus here is on creating modern leisure, relaxation, living and working functions. To implement this plan, investments will be made in technical and social infrastructure systems as well as in commercial, service, accommodation and entertainment projects. In total, the adjusted investment capital amounts to almost VND 52,000 billion, which is approximately USD 2 billion.

Project scope and details

The project includes the construction of over 7,000 hotel rooms, modern entertainment areas, service and commercial facilities, as well as two new cable car lines, bringing the total number to ten cable cars. It is important that the adjustment does not change the approved planning boundaries; Rather, the arrangement of the individual elements is optimized in order to increase their efficiency. The first phase of the project extends from 2008 to 2024 and is being implemented by Sun Group.

A significant part of the project is Sun World Ba Na Hills, which has established itself as an international theme park. The park has won multiple World Travel Awards awards, including being named “Asia's Leading Theme Park”.
