The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health in the Charité (BIH) have announced the initiation of a new event format called bio:cap. This international life science and AI investment aims to connect leading investors with start-ups, research institutions and companies in the areas of biotech, techbio and artificial intelligence (AI). The premiere of bio:cap will take place on June 2nd and 3rd, 2026 at the Berlin exhibition center Charité.de reported.

The event's target groups are innovative start-ups and companies from the biotech and pharmaceutical industries, investors, investor networks, the healthcare industry, research institutions as well as IT, AI and cloud providers. The name bio:cap is made up of the terms “biotechnology” and “capital”. The event is organized by Messe Berlin in partnership with the Charité and the BIH as well as the support of the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI). The partners include the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) with IBB Ventures and the Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg (ILB).

bio:cap will place a strong focus on strategic matchmaking and present curated networking formats as well as high-quality content.
