Bodensee-Therme Überlingen: Modernization ensures a fresh look!
The Bodensee-Therme Überlingen has reopened its doors after a three-day closure due to extensive renovation and overhaul work. The modernization costs an impressive 1.7 million euros, of which 1.5 million euros will go into new investments and 200,000 euros will be earmarked for maintenance and repairs. Jürgen Jankowiak, managing director of Stadtwerke Überlingen GmbH, reported on the cost assumption by the municipal utility, which plays a crucial role in the renovation.
Visitors will immediately notice the numerous innovations. The entrance area shines in new splendor and has been structurally revised. These include a modern reception, an expanded shop, a newly designed foyer and the “Aquarius” restaurant, which has also been given a fresh look.
Comprehensive technical innovations
A central goal of the modernization is to improve the quality, sustainability and atmosphere of the thermal spa. The most important measures include the renovation of the sanitary area, where three toilet facilities and four shower areas were comprehensively renovated. In the wellness area, the rear wall of the cascade pools was planted with plants and given a new lighting design.
A highlight in the family area is the modernized water slide. The previous tire slide has been converted into the new body slide “Carl’s Wellenflitzer”, while the slide for younger guests is now called “Übi’s Silberblitz”. These measures are intended to further increase the attractiveness of the thermal spa for families.
New sauna experiences and digital innovations
The sauna landscape has also undergone a change. The Finnish sauna has been renamed “Mineral Sauna”, and the large lake sauna is now called “Fireplace Sauna”, which is intended to provide comfort with a homely design and an open fireplace. In addition, the new boathouse sauna, which will integrate a historic sailor's boat, will soon be completed. Until the new saunas are completed, sauna guests will receive a pleasure voucher worth 7 euros.
The cash register system has also been technically modernized with the introduction of digital self-check-in machines and automated wristband issuing for tickets booked online. The new convenience wristbands replace the previous cash card and enable contactless check-in and check-out, which is intended to offer visitors a more convenient experience.
Another technical advance is the installation of a new filter system for water treatment, which should not only improve water quality but also reduce energy consumption. The latest technologies are used here to create added value for both guests and the environment.
The Überlingen municipal utilities are also planning ongoing renovations and further developments of the thermal spa in order to ensure its attractiveness in the long term. The Bodensee-Therme Überlingen is now more modern than ever and offers its guests an improved experience in an appealing ambience.
