Union parliamentary group vice-president Norbert Röttgen warns that a possible attack by Russia on NATO territory could not only take place after 2029, but also earlier. This assessment underlines the urgency of the planned reforms and the associated investments in the defense capability of the Bundeswehr. The focus is clearly on comprehensive operational readiness, which should be secured beyond 2029.
