Deutsche Börse has a strong start to the new year

Deutsche Börse recorded solid business figures in the first quarter of this year. Net revenue increased significantly, as did EBITDA. In addition to organic growth, the company benefited from consolidation effects from the takeover of the software company Simcorp. Sales revenue in the first quarter amounted to 1.43 billion euros, an increase compared to the same period last year. EBITDA climbed to 875 million euros in the reporting period. However, operating costs rose sharply but remained below market expectations. Costs increased to 565 million euros, mainly due to integration costs related to the acquisition of Simcorp. The after-tax result increased only slightly.

Deutsche Börse confirmed its targets for the current year, including net revenues of over 5.6 billion euros and EBITDA of more than 3.2 billion euros. Theodor Weimer, CEO of the company, will be replaced as co-CEO by Stephan Leithner on October 1st and will then take over sole leadership at the turn of the year. Weimer has expanded the business with data and software solutions and was significantly involved in the acquisition of Simcorp. The price of Deutsche Börse shares fluctuated greatly following the publication of the business figures, but closed with a loss of 4.01 percent. Goldman Sachs analyst Oliver Carruthers praised cost developments in the first quarter, which exceeded expectations.

Deutsche Börse has developed positively under Theodor Weimer, and the incoming CEO Leithner is taking over a thriving company. The company's market capitalization is currently almost 36 billion euros, surpassing the likes of Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank. However, Deutsche Börse is still behind the London Stock Exchange in this area. The company's future development remains exciting as it appears to continue to be on a growth path.
