Eddy Elfenbein's success: How his ETF beats ARK Invest and Berkshire Hathaway. A financial expert reveals his lazy investment strategy.
According to a report by www.finanzen.net, financial blogger and portfolio manager Eddy Elfenbein has achieved great success with his “lazy” investment strategy. His strategy is based on buying and holding stocks in exceptional companies without constantly jumping in and out. This has resulted in its AdvisorShares Focused Equity ETF exchange-traded fund outperforming Cathie Wood's flagship ARK ETF and Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway over the past five years.
Elfenbein's philosophy is based on long-term investing, focusing on a "Buy" list of 25 stocks that he updates once a year. He strongly believes in the upside potential of these companies and, based on this belief, has delivered an impressive performance of 573.3 percent since the list was created in 2006.
Current stocks on Elfenbein's 2024 buy list include companies like Abbott Laboratories, Amphenol, Celanese and Intuit. Despite a few years in which the "Buy" list did not perform as well as the broad US index, Elfenbein believes that the investment horizon should be at least five years.
The performance of Eddy Elfenbein's CWS ETF has outperformed ARK Innovation ETF and Berkshire Hathaway over the past five years, with his fund posting a 110 percent gain, compared to just 45 percent for the ARK Innovation ETF and 74 percent for Berkshire Hathaway.
Elfenbein emphasizes that investors can be successful with a “set it and forget it” mentality without constantly trading or buying well-known growth stocks. He sees a decisive advantage in his strategy of being “as lazy as possible” and is convinced that long-term holding pays off.
