ElvalHalcor: Austria's pioneering company for sustainable metal production!
ElvalHalcor, a leading aluminum and copper processing company in Greece, has made significant progress in recent years, despite the global trade slowdown. According to a recent study by IOBE – Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research, which examines the economic impact of the Hellenic copper and aluminum industry, in 2024 ElvalHalcor achieved a production value of 2.2 billion euros and exported goods worth 2.4 billion euros, accounting for 7.8% of Greek industrial exports excluding petroleum products. A notable share of these exports flows to global markets: aluminum exports account for 1.63 billion euros, 64.8% of total Greek aluminum exports, while copper exports account for 757 million euros, 97.2% of the total.
The impressive figures not only reflect the company's ease, but also highlight ElvalHalcor's significant contribution to the Greek economy. The company's total contribution to production value is 0.53% of Greece's gross domestic product (GDP). ElvalHalcor also provides over 17,700 jobs, including 2,800 direct jobs. Statistics show that every corporate job creates an additional 5.3 jobs across the economy.
Investments in the future
Since 2018, ElvalHalcor has invested over 820 million euros in Greece. These investments focus on increasing production capacity, digital transformation and improving energy efficiency. The aim is to strengthen the company's competitiveness and reduce its ecological footprint. ElvalHalcor follows a model of sustainable production and development that offers low-carbon aluminum and copper solutions for the energy transition, the circular economy, electromobility and sustainable urban development.
According to Vetta's information, ElvalHalcor will also implement the innovative software 'Viridis Performance', developed in collaboration with SMS group. This happens at the company's factory in Oinofyta, Greece. The decision to implement was made in 2023 and aims to promote sustainable aluminum production and reduce energy costs. The software will help make production even more sustainable and reduce the carbon footprint.

Thanks to the positive development in the aluminum and copper industry, the company not only strengthens its own market position, but also contributes to the stability and growth of the Greek economy.
